Overview

Summary

This role works under the supervision of the Manager of Infrastructure and is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting Special Counsel Technology’s physical/virtual servers, networks and associated storage. Accountable for system availability, performance and service delivery required to meet business needs. Provides advanced technical expertise and high-level customer service skills while maintaining accurate and timely deliverables. This position requires a strong aptitude for automation in order to improve operation efficiencies.

They must be proficient in many technologies to possess the specific competencies to work with, maintain, and support our internal and hosted solutions and applications. These job duties, also further described below, constitute the critical core of Special Counsel Technology’s business services to address and resolve problems associated with the Company's platform/services offered, while enabling our clients to take advantage of opportunities for efficiency in our service delivery.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Designs application infrastructure, including server, security, database, networking and storage.
  • Build automated deployments through the use of configuration management technology.
  • Responsible for developing and building IT solutions, install and configure solutions, implement reusable components, translate technical requirements, assist with all stages of test data, and perform script maintenance and updates.
  • Provides elevated technical support, such as advanced troubleshooting, resource allocation and documentation.
  • Configures and maintains network switches and routers.
  • Monitors and leads the maintenance of system performance and functionality, software licensing and maintenance agreements.
  • Collaborates with client service teams on developing, recommending and implementing customized application solutions.
  • Performs performance assessments, focusing on optimization, as well as capacity, growth and infrastructure planning.
  • Installing, monitoring, maintaining, configuring, and analyzing systems and software in a client network environment.
  • Provides Windows Operating System installation and configuration services, primarily using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for imaging and deployment of applications and related policies.
  • MSSSQL Server administration skills, experience with administrative functions, query analysis, and HA configurations.
  • Creates and updates SCCM packages for distribution.
  • Provisions and maintains colleague domain and corporate messaging accounts in a Windows environment.
  • Provisions and maintains colleague and associate access to Citrix/VMware/Hyper-V virtual machines and required applications.
  • Proactively monitoring systems for capacity and performance.
  • Configuration and optimization of SAN/NAS-based storage systems.
  • Provides Windows domain support including, but not limited to, provisioning/removal of user domain and messaging accounts, group policies and general directory services.
  • Administers various business systems and provides support for ongoing remote projects, including preparing required build documentation.
  • Collaborates with third-party vendors in support of resolving complex technical issues.
  • Performs system software upgrades, configuration and customization, including planning and scheduling projects.
  • Provides recommendations for new and ongoing technology best practices.
  • Collaborates with infrastructure teams on strategic growth and quality control planning.
  • Continually seeks ways to improve services through automation and scripting.
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced team members.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Expected to perform duties independently which includes system design decisions, system changes, troubleshooting and problem diagnosis, problem correction, and documentation correction and updating.
  • May be required to make critical business impacting decisions.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Education & Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a technology discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of post high school education and experience.

Technical Experience

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience providing VMWare and Citrix support, as well as PowerShell scripting for automated builds, monitoring, and reporting is preferred.

  • Microsoft Certified Professional Status (MCSE or MCSA)
  • Microsoft Azure Certification (AZ-900 Fundamentals. AZ-104 Administrator, AZ-400 DevOps, AZ-303 Architect Technologies, AZ-304 Architect Design or AZ-500 Security)
  • HashiCorp Infrastructure Automation Certification or HashiCorp Networking Automation Certification
  • Relativity Certified Infrastructure Specialist
  • Relativity Certified RelativityOne Professional

Required:

  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair a variety of business systems and applications.
  • Ability to provide high-level customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and understand the principles and practices of electronic discovery workflow, including document review and privilege considerations.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to understand complex application architecture, including both web- and client-based interfaces, middleware, databases, and storage systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Preferred:

  • Skilled in implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting electronic discovery/legal application systems and workflow, such as Viewpoint, Relativity, Equivio, Law, and Concordance.
